Ancient-Languages.com opened in 2023 to make live, personalized online ancient language classes accessible and affordable. Did you know that approximately 1.2 billion people are learning a foreign language right now? A considerable percentage of those engage in online language learning every day. However, the most popular and highest-rated foreign language websites and apps only cater to modern languages.

For over two years, Dr. Walt taught hundreds of Biblical Hebrew and Akkadian classes on one of these sites and became a top-rated teacher. However, while he saw a growing interest in ancient languages, he also saw the limited opportunities on these sites, which prefer to focus on modern spoken languages. Thus, Dr. Walt set out to create the world’s first live online language learning site devoted to languages of the Ancient Near East (ANE) and the biblical world.

Ancient-Languages.com offers live 1-on-1 and small group classes in Biblical Hebrew, Akkadian, and Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs. As the site grows, Ancient-Languages.com is open to bringing on more teachers and expanding the language offerings. This could include Koine Greek, Ugaritic, Biblical Aramaic, Sumerian, and more. Please use the Class Interest form to let us know which languages you would like to see offered next!

Lawson Younger, Jr., published in 2022.
